Financial Regulations

The Precept is that element of your Council Tax which is paid to Clifton Without Parish Council.

Every year, the Parish Council draws up a budget and calculates how much money it needs for the next Financial Year. This is usually finalised at the January Full Council meeting and a precept demand submitted to the City of York Council (CYC). CYC co-ordinates the other demands from the North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, North Yorkshire Police and themselves and calculates the Council Tax rate to be paid from 1st April of that year.

CYC will then send out a demand for Council Tax that includes all these elements, and explains the rate to be paid to each different authority. CYC then transfers the funds to the Parish Council.
